Match Report Press Report

Wykeham Exiles 2 Beat Lee-on-Solent 3 in a close match.

With the home team having higher Gradings in 4 of the strings, the match was always going to be in their favour. This turned out to be the case with a Home win.

On paper, the number 3 string should have been the closest, with only 79 ranking points separating the two players before the match. Home advantage prevailed though, with Andrew Kettlewell winning through.

It was the number 2 String which turned out to be the most competitive, with the Players battling out over a total of 80 Points ! Victory finally going to the Home Player, Andrew Whittingham.

Player of the tie was the Away No. 4 string, Joe Pannell, gaining 100 Ranking Points from the match.

Player of the match must be the Away number 4 string, Joe Pannell, who over-turned a 1282 ranking points disadvantage to record a great win.

If the Away No. 5 player, Paul Lacey, had not had to withdraw after 3 game(s) the result could have been closer.
